Two Taylor Swift tickets donated to help raise funds for boy with rare disease

Two girls have given up the chance to see their idol in concert, Taylor Swift, so that they could help a young boy with a rare genetic disease. Jack Laidlaw (7) from Ottawa, ON, was diagnosed with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia Type 4 (SPG4) in December of 2023, a disease that currently has no cure or treatment. A diagnosis of SPG4 means that patients slowly become paralyzed over time. Jack’s family has been fundraising for the cure to SPG4, a gene therapy, which will cost $3 million USD. Ehvah (13) and Adalee (10), from Ottawa, ON, heard Jack’s story and decided to donate their tickets to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concert (November 14th, 2024, in Toronto, ON) to help the Laidlaw family raise money for a gene therapy that could cure Jack.
